Apple Releases iOS 8.1.3
After a fewer weeks of private testing, Apple has released the latest security update for iOS, version 8.1.3.
As far as I can tell, 8.1.3 doesn’t bring anything new for MFi controller owners. What it DOES do is patch the exploits used by the recent jailbreaks. That means if you upgrade to 8.1.3, it might be a long time until you’re able to install RetroArch or Controllers for All.
At the same time, if you’re running anything LESS than 8.1.1, you’re missing out on some MFi controller fixes Apple implemented. 8.1.1 and 8.1.2 completely fixed the lag experienced by owners of the Stratus and mostly fixed the MOGA Rebel’s disconnecting problem.
My advice: if you’re not interested in jailbreaking and you’re running 8.1 or below, go ahead and upgrade to 8.1.3; your controller will probably work better. If you ARE interested in jailbreaking and you’re running 8.1 or below, now is your last chance – upgrade to 8.1.2 before Apple stops signing that firmware! You’ll get all of the controller fixes and you’ll get to jailbreak.
