Coming Soon: Paper Monsters Recut

Paper Monsters Recut, a “remastered” version of a previously-released iOS platforming classic, will be released soon with full MFi controller support.

Paper Monsters wasn’t a bad looking game for 2012. It’s 2.5D graphics were pleasantly designed. Still, when it came time to port Paper Monsters to PC and console, developer Mobot and publisher Crescent Moon Games had a lot of headroom to improve graphical effects and detail. This improved version was released on those platforms as Paper Monsters Recut.

Now its time to come full-circle. The base level of iOS device performance has drastically improved since Paper Monsters was released, and thanks to Metal, modern A7 and A8 devices are perfectly capable of running the same high-level effects of its console brothers. And at the same time, the existence of console ports means Paper Monsters Recut already supports game controllers.

I’ve played the original iOS Paper Monsters, and I enjoyed it greatly. I haven’t played the Recut version yet, but if all it does is add controller support and improved graphics to the original, it would still be a strong recommendation for platform gaming fans. Consider me excited.
