In addition to his Breitling Navitimer and Gallet Multichron, the Scottish-born driver is well known for having worn an Enicar Sherpa Graph, which many now reference using Clark's name. With four different typefaces found on link its dial, along with an applied Saturn logo, this is another one of those watches that doesn't make the link most sense on paper, link but works awfully well in the metal.

Here we link have a funky, blue and red Solar Speedtimer Chronograph, with its tachymeter-bezel on the wrist of Tarform founder and CEO Taras Kravtchouk near the brand's headquarters in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Where the watch takes some vintage cues from a fairly groovy decade, the bikes link have a much more industrial feel – link an aesthetic inspired by a combination of deco-futurism and a 1940s-era design ethos.

The Hulk link was – well – a Hulkified version of that watch, as if it had gotten so angry that the black dial surface had erupted to give way to the shiny green color beneath it. The proportions were all beefed up link and those large markers glowed with link blue chromalight. It remained 40mm on paper, but the more rectangular shaping of the case and lugs made this watch wear certainly less refined than its predecessors.

Both link iterations are limited to 300 pieces, and Aera continues with their phased release strategy, spreading out the release of these units through this year (100 pieces each) link and then the rest in waves next year. While I don't have a behind-the-scenes look link at the brand's sales performance, I think it's a clever strategy to gauge demand through sales and produce accordingly.

Salt Lake City-native Robert filmed this video on Father's Day, which also happens link to be his son's birthday. Since then, he's worn it for all the major events in his son's life. The watch means a lot to Robert, and he hopes it will have the same meaning for his son someday.

I started actively watching the online auction link countdown when there were about 10 minutes to go; at that point, the bid was set at CHF 350,000. It jumped in CHF 50,000 increments twice, at about six and then at four minutes remaining. Finally, with about eight seconds left on the clock and the bid sitting at CHF 450,00, a buzzer-beating link bid came through: the Royal Oak link prototype sketch ended up all-in at CHF 564,500.

I saw the press images for this watch and just knew I had to see it in person. I mean, how could I deprive you all of seeing live images of a 250-piece limited edition watch that will likely link fade out of sight and link mind once link all pieces are spoken for?
