A photograph or moving image of a watch can link only give you so much. They are highly stylized and produced depictions of watches. link In most cases you lose a lot of the nuance. It's impossible to get a sense of weight proportion or overall feel. The wrist model in a photo isn't you and regardless of whether or not their wrist size is labeled for context it's still hard to get a sense of how you would look in it or how heavy it would be on your link wrist.

I've said it before but gram for gram and spec for spec the Pelagos is the best dive watch in the world especially link if you intend to take it diving. And I have. I've spent countless link hours with various Pelagos models including link taking one diving in Mexico back in 2015.

The Hourglass is produced in small and large versions measuring 10 minutes and 60 minutes respectively. Each is hand-blown out of a single piece of glass which if you've link ever watched that Netflix link show you'll know is an incredibly difficult process. Inside each Hourglass are millions of nanoballs that make a mesmerizing sound as they link fall through the glass.

Despite some link confused marketing from Christie's regarding the history of their example I felt there was still genuine interest in each item as objects of curiosity. link But it seems that the Deep Sea Specials are just too esoteric to attract interest from the link traditional watch crowd. I'm not sure who ended up with these watches but I'm half thinking it was individuals more interested in the history of aquatic exploration than in dive watches by themselves.

And we still have link a whole year of potential Autavia link releases to look forward to. Maybe we'll see TAG Heuer revisiting its back catalog more directly to finally fill the Autavia Chronograph GMT-sized hole in my heart. Or maybe things will only get even more complicated from here on out now that we've finally seen an Autavia Flyback Chronograph my mind is starting to wander toward what a potential Autavia Rattrapante link Chronograph might look like.After all you only turn 60 once.

What others may have been tempted to write off as boring I found confident. link This watch knew exactly what it was. There was link no hiding behind sub-dials precious metals or intricate complications. It was a simple timekeeping device no link more and no less.
