New Release: Ammo Pigs
Ammo Pigs, the latest game from 2-Bit Cowboy developer Cascadia Games, is now available on the App Store.
I wrote an extensive review for 2-Bit Cowboy, and much of what I said there applies to this game. Ammo Pigs feels very similar to 2-Bit Cowboy, just with a more modern presentation. Gone are the monochrome graphics, replaced by more a colorful pixel art style. The collection system and basic gameplay is the same, however; run, gun, jump, and dodge enemies while completing objective âcontractsâ you pick up during each level. The formula worked great in the previous game, and continues to work great here – no need to mess with a good thing!

MFi controller support has been improved in Ammo Pigs, with the menus now fully controllable. Just as with 2-Bit Cowboy, I helped beta test controller support in Ammo Pigs – a good thing, as it lead to squashing a particularly irritating bug that I missed in my 2-Bit Cowboy review!
Ammo Pigs is a pretty easy recommendation. If you like side-scrolling action platformers with retro graphics, you should already be downloading this game. If youâre not sold, read my 2-Bit Cowboy review, and apply it to a game with a faster pace, more colorful graphics, and more gameplay and level variety.
