SEGA Cancels Jet Set Radio iOS 8 Update

Looks like the SEGA let-downs just keep on coming. Right on the heals of yesterday’s unanswered pleas for a Sonic 3 Remaster, it’s time for some more disappointing news: according to an email SEGA sent to a reader, Jet Set Radio won’t be getting the promised iOS 8 update after all.

SEGA says:

…To confirm, Jet Set Radio is not supported on iOS 8.

As of present there are no plans for this title to be supported on iOS 8.

This is sad news. The iOS port of Jet Set Radio was outstanding. Fluid 60fps gameplay, retina HD graphics, and MFi controller support were all accounted for; it was a top-quality port through and through, and I played it regularly while I was running iOS 7.

I’ve reached out to SEGA for more information, and I’ll update this post if I learn anything else.
