No Worries,
Never heard of an Ahto keyboard.> can't get it to work here.(easily) Any pointers?
This is the kinda game that makes it difficult for me to recommend.
#33 Re: Apple TV » Developers can't require gamepad » Oct 09 3:51 AM
No, i'm saying if Guitar Hero had been made under the restriction of a limited control system then it would never have become the game it is today.
Fact is with the gaming industry it's "Software" that sells "Hardware" maybe Apple don't know this.
EDIT: BTW been playing through Disney Infinity 3 on iPad with an MFi Controller, not sure how they are going to implement all the controls on the Remote as it makes use of ALL the MFi Controller inputs.
My only conclusions are:-
1: Dev's rework the controls for the tvOS version somehow.. (ie do a lot more work)
2: Make it so, with the Remote you can only play a few levels, before you need to buy into the StarterPack (same as what Activision do with Skylanders TrapTeam).
i'm opting for 2 , let's see how the ATV version turns out.

Hey Kev bit of a big one this regarding your latest game list update.
Games with controller issues:
The Nauts: Does not support controllers (in game) only the menu works.(the game itself is a touchscreen game)
Townsmen - Doesn't support MFi controllers
.
Townsmen Premium - same as above.
Police Chase Traffic Race: (v1.0.1 current appstore listing).. Never reaches the game as it crashes out back to iOS menu on iOS9 & iOS8 basically it doesn't work whilst a game controller is connected. tried on 3 separate iOS devices all with the same result, however launch the game without a controller connected and go into the main driving game, then connect a controller it works.. until you crash your car of course then it exits out the App when you try to restart the level..basically it's unplayable mess with a controller.
To avoid confusion i'm not listing any of these games on MFi4Gamerz.
#35 Re: iOS Games » Starseed: Origin » Oct 09 12:31 AM
Hey Kev heads up, your listing has a typo, it says "Started Origin"

I'm not really that worried about the requirement for Remote Control Support or a 200mb initial file size limit or a lack of local storage beyond 32gb or 64gb, or all of these other concerns that people seem to have about the Apple TV, simply because I know that Disney has announced that the full version of Disney Infinity 3.0 (Star Wars) will be coming to the Apple TV.
If they can make that game with its large file size and Mfi controller work, then I don't see how most of our other favorite games from the App Store won't be able to work well as dedicated apps on the Apple TV.
Disney Infinity comes with it's own game controller.
Call it what you will, but effectively it's a loophole in Apples masterplan for not fully supporting official MFi controllers.
So now as a game developer you need to "make your own hardware" if you want to fully support your game on AppleTV ?

Update,
All fixed ! , Devs have submitted new build to Apple, should be ready within the Week.
.
Try 2 player (with 2 MFi Controllers) it's simple but good competitive fun.

Hey Kev , quick update im in contact with Dev & can confirm they are fixing it, i'm helping with their Testflight so will post up when ready, hopfully shouldn't be too long.
#39 Re: MFi Controllers » Any alternative mods for these crappy grip angles? » Oct 02 10:55 PM
I've pondered & pondered about this problem & come to this conclusion from my gaming habits.
There is no perfect angle..
As it's me that's constantly changing my orientation.
For example laying flat down on your back in bed it's impossible to play.
Lounging face down on the sofa, is bad you get a crick in you neck after about 30mins.
Iv'e found the best position for any controller that holds an iPhone at a fixed angle, is seated sitting upright. but this is not ideal for me, do i need a designated "Gaming Chair" now?
It would be great if there was an adjustable angle version available like the NYKO XboxOne clip.
Unfortunatly this clip is a bit useless for XBoxOne & iPhone.. As...(drum roll)
"SmartGlass for iPhone only work in Portrait mode!"
Did No-one at NYKO care to even check this?
Anyway that's for another gripe.

Hey Kev regarding the new game "Twin Shooter Invaders"
i've tested & can't get it working with Controllers
it maybe that its an older version than what they are reporting on iTunes?
-The iTunes version says v1.2
-But after you install it on the mainscreen very tiny in the bottom right corner it says v01.1
Pls Have a check see if your results are the same, maybe the Dev forgot to attach the correct (MFi Controller supported) binary?
At some point it does clearly work with a controller as there's a youtube video of the devs demoing it with a Stratus XL.
.
But right now the 1.2 Appstore version that claims MFi Support doesn't work here.
I've informed them via twitter about this, lets wait see what they say.
#41 Re: iOS Games » About Minecraft PE's mfi support » Sep 29 2:52 AM
It's been 2 weeks since we reported the issue with iOS Minecraft sticking camera bug to Mojang, still nothing from them.
This goes for all people reporting on the same issue.
I know they take long to get around to fixing these things, but some sort of acknowledgement would be nice.
I recommend not playing it with an MFi Controller at the moment as it really is a pain to play. stay posted.

Customers who already own BioShock may continue playing the game with iOS version 8.3 or earlier. 2K regrets the initial customer service error and looks forward to delivering an updated version of BioShock for iOS in the near future.
#44 Re: MFi Controllers » Twin Stick Shooters » Sep 21 7:04 PM
Hey escaped,
The HORIPad has triggers...there is nothing left out on this controller compared to all other Extended MFi Controllers.
It's basically as close to a PS2 DualShock Controller you can get, the triggers are the same feeling but are analog. (pressure sensitive)
#45 Re: MFi Controllers » Twin Stick Shooters » Sep 21 3:28 AM
Hey Escaped,
Steelseries Status is "meh" for twin stick shooters, what i mean by "meh" is that it's functional.
The sticks are too small & too close together, they also do not roll smooth like the larger MFi Controllers such as the MadCatz C.T.R.L.i etc.
So the experience is not as enjoyable as it is on a larger gamepad, i'm playing XenoWerk now with Stratus on iOS9 & it's way better with a larger controller than it is with this.
It sounds like you are a bit of an expert at them so i wouldn't recommend the Smaller Stratus for serious Dual Stick Action, even though it is conveniently small to throw in a bag.
.
If it's portability you are after, then i reccomend you go with the "C.T.R.L.i Micro" version, yeh it's bigger than the Stratus but its also smaller than all the other MFi Controllers available, plus the dual sticks are spot on.
.
I too enjoy them a lot so here's a list of MFi controller compatible dual stick shooters we are keeping track of. MFi4Gamerz Dual Stick Shooter List maybe theres 1 or 2 there you not played yet?
