Horipad Ultimate - Dead Trigger and Shadowgun

Hello!  I have a Horipad ultimate controller and downloaded Dead Trigger and Shadowgun. The move controls work, but not any other functions (fire reload etc). Is this normal?  Dead Trigger 2 works perfect. I am playing on an iPad Air 2 fully updated.

Dead trigger 1 does not support mfi controllers.  The controller allowing movement is a long standing unfixed bug.  (Dead trigger 2 does support mfi controllers however.)

I thought shadowgun did have full controller support, but I have not played it in quite a while and may be rembering wrong.
