The RM 33-03 automatic watch is equipped with a new skeleton automatic winding movement, the RMXP3. Its amazingly thin volume of 3.28 mm is due to the carefully crafted solid platinum one-piece eccentric micro-rotor. Made of a single piece of platinum and mounted on a ceramic ball bearing, the rotor efficiently stores energy through a bidirectional automatic winding system, ensuring that the entire movement is extremely compact while achieving stable energy transmission. The movement is mounted on a titanium alloy base plate treated with Titalyt® plasma oxidation to increase hardness and durability. The bridge plate is also made of titanium alloy and treated with black PVD. The combination of materials and surface treatments makes the overall structure more rigid and ensures surface flatness, thus ensuring smooth operation and accurate timekeeping of the gear train. Such precision requires extraordinary care and outstanding skills: because the movement components are thin and easily deformed by processing stress and temperature changes, deep expertise is required throughout the manufacturing and polishing process to meet challenges.
The movement is surrounded by a titanium alloy date disc treated with black PVD. The semi-instantaneous date is displayed in a window at 5 o'clock, and the date is clearly visible against a white background. The small seconds hand display adopts a design at 6 o'clock that is not common on Richard Mille watches. This feature not only gives the dial a dynamic aesthetic, but also pays tribute to the classic watchmaking tradition.

These complex mechanical structures can operate efficiently thanks to the variable inertia balance wheel that vibrates at a frequency of 3Hz. By adjusting the four micro-weights on the balance wheel, the vibration frequency can be precisely adjusted without changing the length of the hairspring. The speed regulating device, which is a masterpiece of watchmaking craftsmanship, precisely regulates the energy stored in the high-speed rotating barrel, providing more than 40 hours of power reserve.
In addition, the RM 33-03 continues the traditional advanced watchmaking craftsmanship, such as sandblasting, micro-sandblasting, satin polishing and chamfering, all of which are hand-decorated by craftsmen. "We hope to emphasize the three-dimensional level of the internal structure of the movement through these modifications," Cécile Guenat added, "The virtual and real space created by the highly hollow design structure creates a charming light and shadow atmosphere."
To highlight the three-dimensional structure of the movement, the 18K 5N red gold digital hour markers are fixed to the titanium alloy rail between the scale ring and the movement, suspended above the movement. This complex dial is thin but practical like a bridge, and its exquisite structure spans the entire movement, cleverly directing the visual focus to the small seconds dial.
The RM 33-03 automatic watch inherits the aesthetic genes of its predecessor and reshapes and upgrades it. Cutting-edge materials such as grade 5 titanium and Carbon TPT® define the watch's unique personality – both case materials are extremely scratch-resistant while offering an amazingly light feel and visual beauty.
Whether in Carbon TPT® or grade 5 titanium, each watch features a streamlined, sporty design that cleverly combines the curvature of the brand's barrel-shaped case with the distinctive features of its round models. The three-piece case is satin-finished and polished, with a rich, layered texture, and is precisely secured with signature titanium spline screws.
Both models are slim, with a diameter of 41.7 mm and a thickness of just 3.7 mm. Such a size fits perfectly on different wrists; combined with its ultra-lightness, it's almost invisible when worn.
The strap design continues the distinctive lines of the case, extending from 6 and 12 o'clock to create a dynamic visual effect. The tapered lines further extend the tension of the case design, and the grade 5 titanium folding clasp ensures a secure fit and comfort.
