SteelSeries Nimbus
They just had to go and ruin it with the analog sticks parallel to one another. Oh well.
Other than that, it could be a good controller from the picture. I wonder if they'll ever add rumble.
Yeah I'm definitely going to wait until more controllers come out.
Don't get me wrong. Steelseries makes quality controllers, but they're always going for the more annoying old style PS analong stick set up.
I'll definitely wait for an Xbox 360/Xbox One style controller like the Mad Catz CTRLi. Haven't even touched the Stealseries controller since I got that one and I'm not going backwards to that either
I prefer the parallel analog layout to the staggered one, though it doesn't make much of a difference one way or the other once you get used to it.
This looks like an incredible controller. Assuming it lives up to its promise, you'd be crazy to ignore it based on the stick layout.
The d-pad looks great on this one. Putting the d-pad is on the same plane as the ABXY buttons should make this great for retro games and others that primarily focus on the d-pad and buttons. Unless the analog sticks are too close together, putting them on the same plane will make this great for games that require both sticks at once, such as shooters.
Looks great so far and love the fact that its not glossy like a lot of other controllers are, if it works as good as it looks Steelseries has a winner.
Don't mind the layout but but just like any controller you adjust and adapt.
Looks sweet to me, the lightning charge is a nice touch, theoretically it can charge faster as the lightning port can handle upto 2A over the standard 500mAH from a regular USB socket.
Theoretically: 4x faster on an iPad Charger & 2x on an iPhone charger, saying all this the may cap it, let's see 😊
I also noticed the Analog sticks are improved, basically they've "borrowed" the XBOX ONE sticks.
Only concern and i'm sure Kev will agree.. is "Improve those Triggers!!", looking forward to getting my mitts on one asap.

Got a Nimbus in the post earlier today, it's really good compared to the Stratus XL, in particular there's virtually no lag which I'm really pleased about. I just finished Contra Hard Corps and Super Mario World using Provenance and I didn't once have to start jumping or dodging early to compensate for any lag.
The d-pad is a big improvement too, it's much more accurate and I only had one instance where it read a diagonal when I was intending to just push left or right.
I'll connect it up to the AppleTV later to give it a try...
Yeah, I'm loving the Nimbus so far! Definitely a huge improvement over the other SteelSeries controllers
I Agree. enjoying the nimbus also, triggers are good this time. 😊
If i could nitpick on one minor thing i'm finding though.
The controller is a little small (or maybe I'm too big?), for me it feels like everything is pushed backward when it sitting naturally in my hands.
example , when holding the controller in both hands, my middle fingers are sitting under the space for the triggers instead of against the controller body, when i'm playing they keep naturally slipping under them.
Don't know if its just me being used to holding all other types of controllers, it's just something i consciously i'm aware of with this one.
Apart from this minor nitpick, controller is excellent.
