Yes, I think so.  It already has iCade support from back before MFi controllers.  Porting to the Apple TV wrecked the iOS version a little bit, but once I get it back into shape, the same MFi code should work on iOS too...
Hey, could you add Retroid to the list of games on your AppleTV page?  That would be cool.

Thanks!
Bob

Hey, I'm an iOS dev and just got the confirmation that my voxel space game "Retroid" will be available at the launch of Apple TV.
Here's the link to the iOS version -- I'm pretty sure I have it set up so that if you buy it once you get it on both platforms.

I read that originally on PS1 it controlled via Dpad since there was no thumbstick.  So maybe that is the way to go.  What about that right-thumbstick controlling the camera?  Was that not even in the original game?

I never played the original Tomb Raider when it first came out, but I just tried it on my phone with a controller.  Is that how the camera and controls are supposed to work? It was nearly unplayable!  I'm not sure what the right stick is supposed to do but it sure doesn't work like a modern camera.  The left stick for movement isn't much better.

As an aficionado of twin stick shooters, I'd say that both Geometry Wars 3 and Inferno 2 definitely belong on the list.  I played them both tonight and they are both excellent.  Inferno 2 reminds me a lot of my old favorite Isotope, only with more modern, beautiful graphics.

I'm glad you have this website, it is a great resource for controller-based games.  And it seems like that will become a lot more important with the new Apple TV -- at least I hope so.

Another strange one but I would love to be able to play an old favorite twin-stick shooter, Isotope. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated since 2010 lol.

Hello,

I'm a developer working on porting my game to the new Apple TV.  I bought a Mad Catz controller for that purpose and last night was looking for some games to play with my phone.

One glaring omission from your "Best" list is Traps and Gemstones.  That is a game I already happened to have on my phone, and it is really great with the controller.  I actually want to play it now.  You might think about putting it on the list -- there aren't many games like it on there.

I don't have any connection to the makers of that game, I just think it is a great example of an iOS game being improved by controller support.

The fact that Traps and Gemstones isn't on that list makes me wonder if there are any other great games missing from it?  Anyone know any?  I'd like to play some twin-stick shooters.  I tried Devastator and it is OK but kind of boring IMO.

Thanks
Bob
