Im looking to mount an iPhone or maybe even an iPad mini to an xbone controller. Pretty much to stream PC games to the device while at home. The Nyko mount is discontinued and really expensive for me to get ( close to $100 AUD).
Does have any ideas or alternative mounts ? I'm trying to avoid Bluetooth MFI solutions because I'm sick of dealing with second rate controllers / input lag / iOS updates breaking compatability - all that kinda stuff.
Thanks for any tips!
I paid $15 (shipping included) for this clip that's made for the Xbox one controller, I use it for my nimbus and it works great

It depends on the game, if you don't see it in the games option menu than probably not.

I downloaded the game after reading this post.....this has to be one of the top games on iOS. I will remind Kevin to add it right now on Twitter.

Hi! I'm an iOS developer and have a developer license, and I also contribute to and maintain various emulators on iOS.
I don't jailbreak my device, and the way I install emulators is that I either:
- Use my developer license to "code-sign" an existing emulator that's already been built (an IPA file), and transfer the IPA file to my iPhone via iTunes or Xcode
- Build the emulator in Xcode and run on my device. Most emulators are open source and have Xcode projects you can open and run.The easiest way by far is to register as an Apple developer for $99/year. You can build and run emulators on your iOS device using Xcode without being a developer but the profile is only good for 7 days (as opposed to 1 year if you are a developer), and you'd have to reinstall the emulator every 7 days or so. There are services that you can pay for that will add your iOS device under an enterprise license so that your profile is good for 1 year, but this seems a little bit shady.
I can post more detailed instructions later if you're interested. I maintain the MAME port for iOS and have some instructions on how to build it if you're not a developer:
I've purchased a buildstore subscription for one year ($9) and it is totally legit.

I have the same problem with my controller. The right trigger gives a small value. Makes the controller useless.
I contacted Madcatz and was able to get another controller without those problems. They were pretty quick to respond as well, you should contact them.

Kevin would have the definitive answer for this, but the smallest controller I'm aware of is the Moga Ace Power (which I could easily fit in my pockets). However, the thing is no longer supported and may not work on your specific device (it only worked on the iPhone 5/5c/5s and iPod Touch 5th Generation). You're better off getting a good pair of shorts or pants with cargo pockets.
The moga ace power still works, with a few modifications(car mount, lightning extension cable, electrical tape) you can plug it right into your iPhone 6/s/7/+ and start gaming. What's odd is even though it doesn't use Bluetooth, I still had disconnect issues with a few games. No problems since I rebooted my phone though.

Hi guys and gals my name is Aldo and I'm from Hanafunda - we are making a new MFI form fitting controller ( well we have been developing it for the past two years in super secret ), we will have our to our page hanafunda.com or facebook/hanafunda to keep up worth news, Kevin you can download a press kit from the site or ask me direct for any images and details - this one is for every gamer with a iphone in their pocket ! Its pretty cool because it doesn't add any bulk to your phone - don't worry its cool, once we have finished prototypes we'll probably run a kickstarter campaign to get a production run so if anyone wants one that would be the time to get one. Stay tuned we will let everyone know what's happening. We're also making games as well ! Once we have time we will go through the process of the whole thing so everyone knows what's involved in the process of making hardware and MFI stuff too. Check it out ! Thanks.
My only concern is it not being a extended layout controller though.
#11 Re: MFi Controllers » Mfi dropping after ios10 update. Anyone else? » Oct 19 3:37 AM
Last night I found a workaround while playing ninja boy adventures. I was able to get a whole hour or so of gaming from using the left analog/stick instead of the d-pad. Not sure if this fixes every game but it worked for ninja boy, after an hour and 15 the game crashed but the controller was still connected. i will try this on a few more games when I have time.

I haven't had any problems with my Nimbus under iOS 10, but I couldn't get my C.T.R.L.i. to work at all. I downloaded the Mad Catz app to see if there was a firmware update (nope), then tried to button testing utility to make sure that everything was working. It was. When I next played something, it worked and stayed connected for about 30 minutes while playing two games (Space Marshals 2 and Xenowerk).
It's a possible work-around. I'll try playing one game for a longer amount of time tomorrow.
*Update* nope. Still disconnects. And it goes completely dead and won't turn back on again until I take out the batteries
Yep. I have the same issues with the CTRLi. I also have to take out the batteriries to get it to connect again. Since the iOS 10.0.2 update, things have only gotten worse for me. The device will connect, but it doesn't function anymore in any game. Gonna reset my connection and see if that might fix something.
Same thing here I just updated my iPhone 6+ to 10.0.2 and my C.T.R.Li keeps disconnecting when I play 10 minutes of ninja boy adventures, I was able to play a couple hours of Jade Empire with minor issues but I haven't tried playing anything else yet.
#13 Re: MFi Controllers » Is it not possible to map MFi controllers to on-screen inputs? » Jun 28 9:06 PM
There was a jailbreak tweak called blutrol that allowed you to map touch controls to a physical controller, but it hasn't been updated to work on iOS 9
#14 Re: MFi Controllers » MadCatz CTRLi calibration problem » Sep 13 8:28 PM
I've been having a similar problem with the r2 trigger, if I press it down and release it gets stuck (not physically but on screen and in games).

@MFiGamer I saw it, but I wonder what will make it any different from the App Store "Game" section.
